In a few words:

After almost 2 months and 3 albums I decided to leave my summer mood behind (at least for the moment) and present something different. “Through The Years” is the fourth album of Freedom that was released at 1971 and is also one of few LPs that I have in my collection. Freedom was a blues-flavored hard rock band that was founded in 1967 by former members* of Procol Harum and was active until early 70’s. Although the roots of “Through The Years” are in hard rock, it has many blues influences in most of the songs (especially at guitar solos). Furthermore, folk and pop music in not strange to Freedom, since apart from acoustic guitars, they use very “catchy” vocal harmonies in their songs. Typical example of the “softer” side of Freedom is the ballad “Thanks”, which easily stands out from the rest of the songs. “Through The Years” is a good blues-oriented hard rock album that you should give a chance.

*Trivia: Ray Royer (guitar) and Bobby Harrison (drums) were kicked out from Procol Harum after releasing the hit single "A Whiter Shade of Pale”.
